Position Overview

Paris College of Art is committed to helping students from all over the world find academic and personal success. All positions in the Student Life office share the responsibility for creating a campus community that values diversity, inclusion and the uniqueness of others by modeling integrity, care, compassion and respect during interactions.  Student Life Counselors are responsible for providing support to students in their adaptation to life in Paris as well as defining strategies to increase student retention and overall student experience and participate in Student Retention Committee.

 

General Responsibilities

Student Support for Housing and Administration

·         Solicit and establish partnerships with organizations, banks, housing agencies, etc. to achieve long-term goals and better serve students’ needs

·         Inform, advise and assist students in the process of obtaining student visas and carte de séjour

·         Assist students with French administration issues: applying for CAF, establishing and cancelling phone and utilities services, etc.

·         Organize and keep records of student health insurance data, distribution of insurance cards and correspondence with insurance provider

·         Enter and manage student data

 

Extra-curricular Student Activities

·         Develop and administer student activities & special events.

·         Oversee on-campus student intern program: assign jobs and monitor hours as well as supervise students assigned to Student Life

 

Career Services & Alumni Relations

·         Organize skill-building workshops once / semester

·         Seek out internship opportunities and promote to our students and alumni, issue «convention de stage»

·         Track alumni addresses and career progression by conducting regular surveys of graduating students, alumni and employers

·         Maintain the LinkedIn alumni page

 

Other

·         Participate in the organization and administration of on-campus events such as bi-annual Orientations and Open Houses

Skills :

·         Fluent in English and French;

·         Excellent communication skills;

·         Knowledge of American educational culture and a good understanding of the challenges facing international students in Paris;

·         Good knowledge of the city of Paris and its resources for students;

·         Strong computer skills, including experience with Pack Office;

·         Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task;

·         Ability to motivate and inspire students;

·         Ability to work flexible hours and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications :

Training/Diploma in Art preferred.

full-time, some working hours on saturdays
