Responsibilities :

We are currently looking for a Student Life and Communications Coordinator (M/F), a key position in our small team.

Reporting directly to the Director and Associate Director, the role will include but not be limited to the following tasks:

- Initiating, coordinating and managing a strong and attractive programme of cultural immersion activities for our students 

- Provide a high quality student service (visa compliance and monitoring / transport passes / registration assistance, etc.).

- To be part of the company's emergency team, to be reactive (punctual) in the event of an emergency.

 

And in more detail, here are the duties of the post:  

Student Life

- Write and send out the weekly newsletter to students;

- Lead 'practical information' sessions during orientation days; generally be the point of contact for practical questions and life in Paris;

- Researching, coordinating and leading 5 trips per year (3 weekends and 2 Saturdays), negotiating hotel and restaurant costs, managing bookings, coordinating transport, selecting guides, accompanying the group and ensuring the trips run smoothly;

- Organise group dinners (Thanksgiving, farewell dinner and receptions): negotiate costs, prepare menus and logistics, communicate about the events;

- Organise Franco-American evenings during orientation days;

- Organise and lead tours of Paris and other activities in the city; 

- Liaise with the French as a Foreign Language Coordinator to develop relevant cultural and linguistic activities;

- Act as the company's main liaison with the French immigration authorities; manage OFii visa files and procedures for all students, manage visa renewals where necessary;

- Provide ad hoc IT support to students;

- Implement and maintain distance learning tools (Zoom; Dropbox);

- Manage transport passes (Navigo Découverte, ImaginR);

- Helping students to find and register for extra-curricular activities;

- Developing and monitoring the Student Life budget.

 

Communication

- Contribute to the marketing and communications strategy with the company's US office: suggest improvements, participate in their implementation;

- Managing the content of the website: writing and updating content;

- Develop and maintain a solid presence for the company on social networks, managing the institutional FB pages, those of former and current students, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts;

- Regularly monitor our online presence: collect and analyse data;

- Provide technical and logistical support for our online admissions software (SLATE), in conjunction with the technical department;

- Contribute to the creation of visuals for digital promotional materials: website and social networks;

- Create and publish video and audio content for the website and social networks;

- Supervising student contributors/bloggers - assigning tasks, monitoring and supervising publications.

- Deliver marketing projects on time, setting and monitoring deadlines.

 

Alumni Relations

- Develop the alumni network;

- Manage the online presence of alumni on social networking sites.

 

You will also be expected to be on-call duty (usually 1 or 2 periods per month).

Skills :

 

Skills

 

· Bilingual French-English (or French speaker with very good English);

· Previous experience of working with American audiences/culture is desirable;

· Proficient in the Office suite, social networking, Wordpress, Photoshop;

· Excellent communication skills; ability to work in a team; ability to lead groups and organise activities and events;

· Excellent administrative and organisational skills;

· A genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion;

· Availability, good humour, rigour, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in intercultural issues;

· Good knowledge of Paris; Familiarity with the French and American university systems.

Qualifications :

· French or American university degree, preferably at Master's level.
