Since opening in 2023, Rice Global Paris (RGP) has established itself as a dynamic European hub for Rice University located in the heart of Paris in the Marais district. Its core mission is to support Rice University’s global development, both by providing immersive international educational opportunities for Rice undergraduate and graduate students, and by reinforcing cooperation and collaboration between Rice’s research community and its French and European counterparts. In light of its rapid evolution and projected growth of its programming in coming years, RGP is expanding its team and invites applications for the position of Program Assistant.
Reporting to the Administrative Director, the Program Assistant will join the existing team of three Paris-based employees and four Houston-based employees in the Global office overseen by Rice University Vice-President for Global, Caroline Levander.
Within the RGP team, the Program Assistant will have special responsibility for residence management in addition to other wide-ranging tasks relating to the preparation and running of RGP events and RGP student programs, at all times working in close coordination with the existing team members.

Responsibilities
Residences
The Program Assistant will oversee management of RGP student residences, with the participation of Resident Associates (RAs) during peak times for student programs.
Tasks include:

Ensure residences are prepared for the arrival of new groups.

Perform room inspections before and after residence use.

Plan and coordinate apartment cleaning.

Monitor residence maintenance and supply issues.

Plan and coordinate maintenance work.

Order residence supplies as needed.

Coordinate check-in and check-out of residents.

Update information on the residences communicated by email and displayed on site.
Student programs
The Program Assistant will be a key point of contact for students and faculty.
Task include:

Assist with student arrivals and orientation

Assist with student emergencies or medical needs
-
Coordinate and accompany cultural activities and excursions
General administration
The Program Assistant will perform various clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Tasks include:

Request and assess estimates from service providers

Assist with planning and organizational tasks
-
Assist with preparation of events hosted at RGP Center

Monitor RGP Center maintenance and supply issues
Skills :
Fluency in both French and English
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Attention to detail
Familiarity with French and American culture and university systems
Experience with youth, preferably in a cross-cultural setting
Team player
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree.
1-3 years’ work experience in higher education or international environment.
Other :
Must have French work authorization.
Conditions :
Full-time (CDI), in-person contract including a 3-month trial period.
35 hours per week. Office hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional evening/weekend/public holiday work in keeping with programming needs.
Start date: from May 2025 (to be discussed)
Gross salary: €27,000 – €30,000 depending on experience.
