Missions et activités du poste / responsabilité/Job Responsibilities:

This staff member assists in all aspects of programming in our Student Life department, from the preparation and execution of student arrivals, orientation, excursions to the development and facilitation of activities designed to engage our students with their host culture. The Program Advisor will also assist with the development and organization of the International Internship program, taking on the task of sourcing and placing internship students in local internship placements. While the majority of duties will relate to Student Life and the Internship Program, the incumbent will also asked to occasionally participate in student housing tasks as well as be well versed in the local academic culture. A deep local knowledge of Paris will be paramount for this position.

Program Coordinator, Cornell Law School Paris Summer Institute

Cornell Law School, in collaboration with the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, is seeking a program coordinator for their annual Paris Summer Institute, a four-week summer program held in Paris, France, mid-June to mid-July 2018.

The program coordinator, under general supervision and in partnership with a co-director based at Cornell University, facilitates the coordination and on-site implementation of the program in Paris. This position is full-time for 4 weeks with up to five hours per month in the months leading up to the program’s start in June. Interested candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s (or “licence”) degree and 2-5 years of relevant professional experience. Candidates should be fluent in both English and French, be able to work well with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, have strong communication and organizational skills, and have familiarity with US higher education.

The Paris Summer Institute is a four-week academic program in international and comparative law.  The Institute is co-sponsored by Cornell Law School and the Sorbonne Law School at the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and is fully accredited under the American Bar Association.

Every year, the Institute welcomes a select group of 50-80 law students from around the world to study law in the heart of Paris.  Students take advantage of the strong international faculty, expansive English-language curriculum, and unique cultural and professional offerings.  

Under the direction of the Vice Provost for International Affairs at Cornell University and the Co-Director of the Cornell Law School–Paris Summer Institute based at Cornell, the Program Coordinator coordinates the work of the Paris office and handles the various relationships with French officials at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.   

The Program Coordinator must assist students and faculty with health, housing, travel, culture, sports, and weekend excursions.

Program Coordinator must have appropriate work authorization to work in France
