Cornell Law School, in collaboration with the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, is seeking a program coordinator for their annual Paris Summer Institute, a four-week summer program held in Paris, France, mid-June to mid-July 2018.

The program coordinator, under general supervision and in partnership with a co-director based at Cornell University, facilitates the coordination and on-site implementation of the program in Paris. This position is full-time for 4 weeks with up to five hours per month in the months leading up to the program’s start in June. Interested candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s (or “licence”) degree and 2-5 years of relevant professional experience. Candidates should be fluent in both English and French, be able to work well with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, have strong communication and organizational skills, and have familiarity with US higher education.

The Paris Summer Institute is a four-week academic program in international and comparative law.  The Institute is co-sponsored by Cornell Law School and the Sorbonne Law School at the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and is fully accredited under the American Bar Association.

Every year, the Institute welcomes a select group of 50-80 law students from around the world to study law in the heart of Paris.  Students take advantage of the strong international faculty, expansive English-language curriculum, and unique cultural and professional offerings.  

Under the direction of the Vice Provost for International Affairs at Cornell University and the Co-Director of the Cornell Law School–Paris Summer Institute based at Cornell, the Program Coordinator coordinates the work of the Paris office and handles the various relationships with French officials at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.   

The Program Coordinator must assist students and faculty with health, housing, travel, culture, sports, and weekend excursions.

Resident Director of Middlebury Interactive Language Academy 2018, IES Abroad Nantes

The Resident Director is part of a community that creates an intensive four-week immersion study abroad program for high school students in the summer. Middlebury Interactive Languages (MIL) has become the gold standard for residential language and cultural immersion programs for secondary school students and has chosen to partner with IES Abroad Customized to organize their 2018 summer French language academy in Nantes, France. The Nantes Residential Academy features the same renowned curriculum and programming as MIL's US-based academies to provide students the experience to immerse themselves in French language and culture in one of the world's most beautiful cities. The Resident Director works in close consultation with IES Abroad, the year-round MIL Staff based in Middlebury, Vermont, and the locally-hired on-site staff to ensure the safety and well-being of students in a highly structured environment. They will also supervise the Residential Educators (RE's).

All staff are required to participate in pre-season training to understand the Academy's educational mission and vision and to master and implement the immersion curriculum by adopting and practicing the Middlebury Immersion Methodology. All staff and students adopt the Middlebury Language Pledge©, modified as needed for the student age group and language level so that a full immersion environment is created.

The Resident Director works with the Program Director in the preseason to organize academy programming. Additionally, they coach their Residential staff once on-site.


Assistant Director, Student Success for Career Development, Employer Relations, and Academic Advising, Parsons Paris

TNS Parsons currently seeks full-time: Assistant Director, Student Success for Career Development, Employer Relations, and Academic Advising

The Assistant Director is responsible for providing academic and career advising according to degree requirements and students' abilities and aspirations to help students persist to graduation and obtain desired career outcomes. Additionally, this position will lead employer relations for Parsons Paris in collaboration with school leadership, faculty, and Career Services on the New York campus. The Assistant Director is an integral member of the Student Success team and reports to leadership in Student Success. This position establishes, maintains, and enhances employer relations with the distinct purpose of providing internships and job opportunities for Parsons Paris students. It also provides academic advising and career development services to degree-seeking students in one-on-one and group settings in the forms of workshops or other interactive venues. The Assistant Director also participates in programs and systems to support student persistence and success.

This position is split between career-related responsibilities (80%) and academic advising responsibilities (20%).
Careers/Internships/Employer Relations:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with employers relevant to the student body of Parsons Paris. Conduct site visits, invite them to campus, organize programming.
• Identify internship and job opportunities during key moments of the Parisian cultural and fashion calendar, such as, but not limited to, Fashion Week, FIAC, Paris Design Week etc.
• Spearhead the completion of all necessary documentation to enable students to work at the positions Parsons Paris offers in Paris and the broader European Union.
• Conduct job fairs, workshops, portfolio review, create and refine resumes, and translate students' skills into competencies and requirements prevalent in the world of work.
• Collaborate regularly with New York-based Career Services personnel and advisors.
